Excellent Choise For Your Holidays

Tertsa is a small village in the southeastern part of the Heraklion Prefecture, in Crete.
It belongs to the community of Sykologos in the municipality of Viannos.
It is the last village on the southeastern side of the Prefecture of Heraklion.
To get there today you will have to cross almost the whole Heraklion prefecture though Vianno, Sykologo or on the side of the Lasithi Prefecture through Ierapetra and Mirtos. The distance from Heraklion is approximately 95 kilometers , from Ierapetra around 25. See map here
Its area extends from east Tertsa by Cheromylos up to Psarocharako and Anemomachas beach to the west and from the beach in front of the village in the south to St. George and the hills in the north.
As we look to the north from the beach or even better swim fifty meters south and turn our gaze to the north will distinguish the right Gypsa hill limiting Tertsa valley from the east which took its name from the gypsum rocks that give a separate color and light reflections in the region, shining among the few trees that exist there. Left you see the hill that limits the valley to the west called Souvloto Mouri touching the sea with a strange rock with the distinctive name Psarocharako. Hiding west behind it is a beautiful beach with a great history that will you surely hear from the people of the village over some drinks of raki. If one takes the road from the beach to the north and interior of the valley, will meet several mandarin orange and a few banana plantations on the road to Saint George Church that is a typical church in the region with a Mediterranean palm and some wild roses in the backyard.
The church is tied to the life of the people as a sacred reference point. It is a small valley with a small river which flows through many times especially during the winter season when it can becomes a torrent.
But this does not last long - usually a couple of days - as of course the cold winter doesn’t last long. Sunshine and good weather are typical in the region.
In recent years Tertsa has known some tourism development that created the appropriate conditions for someone who will visit as they will find a room rentals, a tavern, a cafe, a small market, a barbecue.
